I hope you\u2019ll find my <em>Ruminations<\/em> useful, informative and, at times, entertaining. The site is a work in progress. I have organized it around four content pages. These I plan to fill with eclectic notions arising from my working class, small business, and white-collar experiences, including more than 30 years of writing about Silicon Valley.<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>To share an idea or make a comment, <br \/>please use the contact box to the left.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>I have an old-timer\u2019s familiarity with the principles underlying the internet and the web, but out of touch with the culture and technologies. Still, I imagine making contributions in the realm of business models for independent content creators. I\u2019ll approach this as a former beat reporter for a newspaper \u2013 learn from those who are active and successful; help synthesize and popularize their work; and connect the dots or people and\/or add ideas of my own, should these seem useful.<\/p>\r\n<p>I derived the organizing principle of this site from Steve Krug\u2019s web usability book, \u201cDon\u2019t Make Me Think.\u201d He maintained that every page is a front page because most viewers will discover you via a search engine, friend referral, or social media hit. Hence, I every page of <em>Ruminations<\/em> has the same look and feel and navigation. We\u2019ll see how that works.<\/p>\r\n<p>Thank you for visiting.
